Senior Brand Strategist

Hello, we’re Impero

We’re an independent, award-winning creative agency.

We work with high-profile, global brands such as, Christian Aid, The Glenlivet, Havana Club & Chivas, Corona, Budweiser, Future Farm, Nature Valley, Dr. Jart, Unicef, Paco Rabanne, EO, and a bunch of others.

We’re pretty good at what we do. We’ve won five Agency of The Year(s) including The Drum DADI Agency of the Year. We were also shortlisted as Campaign Independent Agency of the Year. And, this year made it onto Campaign Magazine’s 100 best places to work.

This year, we have our sights set on a D&AD and/or Cannes Lion.

There’s about 50 of us (not including the dogs) — but that number grows all the time because we’re still young, ambitious and do great work.

We’re also 70% female with a 50/50 gender split on the senior team. We proudly have 100% pay parity, and it kind of annoys us that we even have to mention that as something that’s unique within this industry.

We gladly do things differently. We‘re super ambitious, brutally honest and always deliver.

We don’t really like the ‘Old Guard’ of advertising. This is an agency that uses passion, ingenuity, and an anything-is-possible attitude to deliver work across all kinds of platforms. It’s one of the reasons why working here is a hell of a lot of fun. It’s a fantastic place to be a Strategist. Everything’s to play for.

Not surprisingly, this is a growing agency, so we’re looking for a Senior Brand Strategist who wants to be part of, and help, drive that growth.

The role

As a Senior Brand Strategist at Impero, you are a support function of the creative conduit for account growth through thinking and planning.

Although your day will be full of different types of projects, we are looking for someone who has a lot of experience on writing killer brand strategies.

We’re a fast-moving and rapidly expanding agency, so we need a strategist who can think and work fast, often on multiple projects at once. We don’t just want someone who can write a killer deck, but someone who can drive the effectiveness of a strategy once out there in the world.

You will bring outside thinking, knowledge, experience, and culture into the agency. Many of our clients are looking for the next generation of consumers so a finger on the pulse of the future is a must.

You will also be leading projects and be expected to spend time with senior clients, understanding their business and challenges and how we as Impero can best drive change in these areas.

You will be the brand guardian of your projects and will act as the filter before anything sees the light of day, ensuring that we are always producing best-in-class strategy.

As a final note, we’re an agency full of ambitious ‘doers’… slow-moving chin scratchers need not apply.

The type of people we want to meet

You will have previously worked on FMCG accounts and are used to global multi-market brands.

  • Have 5 years’ minimum agency experience.
  • Can provide clarity and direction to the agency and senior clients.
  • Are committed to constantly bring the consumer into the agency so that our creative output is 100% consumer centric.

  • Are proactive and committed to developing your own knowledge and skills.
  • Are unafraid to roll up your sleeves and muck in.
  • Are driven, motivated and have meticulous attention to detail.

What else

  • Culture Curious – we’re the agency for impatient brands and believe that no matter the size of a brand they can still contribute to and move with culture.
  • Proactive Do-er – we’re a fast-growing agency, we don’t have time for chin scratcher planners – done is very much better than perfect in this house.
  • Organised and self-disciplined – the nature of the agency beast is a keen ability to multitask.
  • Self-motivated – we’re a flexible company, you and only you are in charge of meeting your deadlines – we only have one rule – don’t let your team down.

The perks of working at The Mighty Impero include

  • Being part of something special — this is an exciting growing agency with no board of directors, or shareholders to report to.
  • Opportunity to opt into our Health Insurance.
  • Life Assurance and Income Protection.
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity policy.
  • Hybrid working.

  • A distinct lack of bureaucracy or politics.
  • Ownership over your own projects whilst enjoying an inclusive environment.
  • Beer. Gin. Rum. Cognac. Whiskey. Snacks. (Working with our clients has added perks).

Final word

This is an awesome place to work. We’re in control of our own destiny. But it means we’re the only ones that can deliver it. We’re all massively ambitious and hard working. But it’s also fun. We all get along, there’s no politics, just heaps of passion. We’re the creative industry’s new guard and it’s awesome.
