Senior Account Manager

Hello, we're Impero

We’re an independent, award-winning creative agency.

We work with high-profile, global brands such as Chivas, Jameson, The Glenlivet,  Aspall, Staropramen, Caffreys, Lenor, Ariel, Olay and a bunch of others.

We’re pretty good at what we do. We’ve won multiple Agency of The Year(s) including Campaign’s Global Integrated Agency of the Year and The Drum DADI Agency of the Year. We were also shortlisted as Campaign Independent Agency of the Year and, for two years running, made it onto Campaign Magazine’s 100 Best Places to Work.

There’s about 20 of us (not including the dogs) – and that number keeps growing because we’re ambitious and we do great work.

We’re 70% female with a 50/50 gender split on the Senior Team. We proudly have 100% pay parity, and it kind of annoys us that we even have to mention that as something unique within this industry.

We don’t like the ‘Old Guard’ of advertising. This is an agency that uses passion, ingenuity, and an anything-is-possible attitude to deliver work across all kinds of platforms. It’s one of the reasons why working here is a hell of a lot of fun. Everything’s to play for.

Not surprisingly, this is an agency set for growth, so we’re looking for a Senior Account Manager who wants to be part of and help drive that growth.

The role

We’re looking for an ambitious Senior Account Manager with strong integrated experience, particularly across BTL and shopper campaigns, including social, OOH, and off-trade activity. Ideally, you’ll also bring experience in on-trade work, such as promotions and experiential activations. You’ll be passionate about delivering effective campaigns, with a solid understanding of what great integrated marketing looks like. Previous experience within BTL agencies is essential.

As a Hybrid Senior Account Manager/Project Manager within our Client Services team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your accounts/projects. Core parts of the role include relationship-building with clients, end-to-end campaign management and ensuring your projects are running on time and budget, managing client expectations.

You will support your Senior Account Director by managing key clients, pushing the agency to produce great client work and ultimately, helping bring your clients and their brands fame and glory.

Your day-to-day Client Service responsibilities:

  • Being the first point of contact for your clients and maintaining a consistent and positive relationship.
  • Responding to new project briefs, engaging relevant agency departments (creative, strategy, design and production) as required, and moving these forward into delivery.
  • Being prepared for and leading day-to-day internal and client meetings, including responding with client-facing meeting notes within 24 hours.
  • Being the brand guardian for your clients within Impero. Know your brands inside and out, keep up to date with their challenges and maintain high standards of creative work.
  • Managing the financial admin and revenue pipeline for your clients, including invoicing, project health reporting and purchase order management.
  • Support in identifying growth opportunities for your clients and their brands, pushing new streams of work.
  • Keeping up-to-date on trends to ensure that our brands are ahead of the curve.

Your day-to-day Project Management responsibilities:

  • Creation of scopes of work and timelines, collaborating with Producers on projects involving complex delivery or production requirements (e.g. experiential, print, or shoots).
  • Resource booking and coordination across internal strategy, creative, and design teams.
  • Management of internal diaries, including setting up project meetings, briefings, and reviews.
  • Preparation and sharing of weekly and daily planning notes via Slack.
  • General administrative support using our project management tool, Scoro.
  • Budget and overburn tracking, ensuring projects remain on budget and clearly documenting any variances in weekly reporting.
  • Ongoing management of project timelines, proactively updating schedules and resource plans as needed to keep work on track.
  • Coordination of delivery files, ensuring all assets are proofread for copy accuracy and checked for print readiness, with Producer involvement where required.
  • Management of server files, including saving and maintaining up-to-date versions of decks.
  • Updating the usage tracker for non-production projects (with Producers managing production-related tracking).

You will be assessed against four key performance indicators:

  • Be considered a valued partner by your clients at a Brand Manager level.
  • Deliver against your revenue targets for your owned accounts.
  • Deliver projects faultlessly, on time and profitably.
  • Build strong relationships internally, earning 90% positive peer feedback during reviews.

The type of people we want to meet

Above all, you’ll embody our core values of being honest, doggedly determined, always on point and audaciously ambitious.

You will have a hunger to build strong client relationships, deliver exceptional work for your clients and be part of an amazing team. More so than this, you will have a willingness to learn things outside your remit and pick up skills quickly.

  • Around 4 years’ experience within an Accounts role, with a minimum of 12-18 months as a Senior Account Manager and experience in Project Management tasks.
  • Strong understanding of strategic and creative processes and experience working closely with both departments from the initial briefing stage.
  • Good initiative and a genuine love for building client relationships and managing campaigns.
  • Have a strong understanding of 360 / integrated marketing and credible experience working on BTL / shopper campaigns (including social, OOH, Off Trade, and ideally also On Trade, promotions and experiential)
  • Experience working on Global toolkits (nice to have).
  • Have a solution-focused attitude and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • The type of person who likes to create amazing work, rather than sit in a meeting talking about it.
  • A good team player invested in Impero’s growth and new business opportunities.
  • Proactive and committed to developing own knowledge and skills.
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and muck in with the team to get the job done.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organised and self-disciplined, with an ability to multitask and consistently hit deadlines.

The perks of working at The Mighty Impero include

  • Being part of something special – this is an exciting agency with no board of directors or shareholders to report to.
  • Opportunity to Opt into our Health Insurance.
  • Life Assurance and Income Protection.
  • Enhanced Maternity / Paternity / Adoption policy.
  • Hybrid working, which includes a ‘Work From Abroad’ policy.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • The ability to stamp your mark on an organisation, not just be a cog in the machine.
  • Seasonal company parties.
  • Summer hours in June, July and August.
  • A ‘yes work’s important, but let’s not get too serious’ vibe.
  • A distinct lack of bureaucracy or politics.
  • Ownership over your own projects whilst enjoying an inclusive environment.

The final word

This is an awesome place to work. We are in control of our own destiny. But it means we’re the only ones that can deliver it. We’re all massively ambitious and hard-working. But it’s also fun.

We all get along; there is no politics, just heaps of passion. We’re the creative industry’s new guard. And it’s awesome.
